IT'S A NEW DAY..........November 6, 2008
It's all about learning......................

Yes, that's Dudley up on the rooftops; King of the World.

He's not there by accident, no, it's all about learning.....

My daughter Susan has learned exciting new technological techniques that can not only put Dudley up on a rooftop; she can put anyone or anything you choose anywhere in the world  you like.

ANOTHER NEW DAY...Friday, November 7, 2008
Continuing with the subject of learning........ the photo on the right was taken approximately 2 to 3 years ago.  I was privileged to be gathering with friends in Westview Park where we celebrated with our drumming.

Drumming is something I learned about at a very early age through my membership in The Salvation Army.    I always loved the drumming and as a young girl I had a lot of fun participating in the Timbrel Brigade where along with my friends we would play our tambourines.  We learned excellent tambourine drills and audiences enjoyed our performances.   I remember the red ribbons which we fastened to our tambourines as they danced in time to the rhythm.

Many years later shortly after my move to Elliot Lake in the year 2000 I was blessed to make the acquaintance of a dear friend, Elaine, who introduced me to the world of Native Drumming.     I  became a member of the Women' Drumming Group.    And soon  I was fortunate to be taught how to make my own drum.     I loved our drumming group here in Elliot Lake.  I loved the new songs I learned to sing.    Unfortunately our group no longer exists.  I miss it but I hold the learning  and the sharing in precious memory.

For about a year before my dear sister, Muriel, died she and I took our drums to Hillside Retirement Home where we had a lot of fun  with the residents who formed a new rhythm band.    We sang, we danced, we drummed together.     It was an amazing learning experience.   Of course when Muriel became ill we brought this experience to an end.    I learned so much from those wonderful days.

And soon, I am happy to say,  my dear friend, Wendy, and I will be visiting Huron Lodge together with our drums and with some tambourines, shakers and other rhythm instruments.   We will be forming a Huron Lodge Rhythm Band.   This will be another new learning and one that I eagerly anticipate.

Drumming is one thing I have learned............I have learned  many things on my journey and I continue to learn each new day.
When I come back to this page I will share more with you on this topic.......It' all about Learning.

But for now I hope you will click on NEXT PAGE which will take you to my Chrismas, 2008 Celebration Page.
